Multiplexer
Change the multiplexer settings from that of the Standard preset if necessary.
In Version 22.3 or later.
General
- Output Format
The default setting, [Standard] is selected.
Standard |
A generic H.264/MPEG-4 AVC output setting, which sets the encoder parameters depending on a source movie file. You can also set the resolution, bitrate, aspect ratio, GOP structure, quantization matrix, etc. within the MPEG-4 H.264/AVC (Baseline, Main, High profiles and levels) standards. |
*When selecting another format other than [Standard], the available settings are restricted within the range of the selected format standard.
- Stream Format
Selects the video and audio stream's multiplexing characteristics.
The default setting, MP4, is for a generic MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 file.
None |
An elementary stream containing only the video, or only the audio.
Outputs the video and audio as two separate files. |
MPEG-2 Transport
(CBR) |
Outputs a Transport stream set to contain MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 data. Regardless of the bitrate control mode used to encode the data, this Transport stream always specifies CBR. |
MPEG-2 Transport
(VBR) |
Outputs a Transport stream set to contain MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 data. Regardless of the bitrate control mode used to encode the data, this Transport stream always specifies VBR. |
MPEG-2 Transport
(BDAV Common) |
Outputs an MPEG-2 Transport stream where the characteristics are in compliance with the Blu-ray requirements. BDAV Common mode is mainly used by the Blu-ray BDAV standard. |
MPEG-2 Transport
(HDMV) |
Outputs an MPEG-2 Transport stream where the characteristics are in compliance with the Blu-ray requirements. BDMV format is mainly used by the Blu-ray BDMV standard. |
MPEG-2 Transport
(AVCHD) |
Outputs an MPEG-2 Transport stream where the characteristics are in compliance with the Blu-ray requirements. AVCHD mode is mainly used by the AVCHD standard. |
MP4 |
Outputs an MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 stream in MP4 format. |
MKV |
Outputs an MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 stream in an MKV (Matroska Video) container. MKV file play-back is limited to supported players. |
*When selecting another format other than [Standard], the available stream formats (target devices) are changed depending on the selected output format.
*Like the MPEG-2 Transport (VBR) option, VBR stream types allow variable bitrates. It is possible to multiplex a CBR bitrate control mode video in VBR stream types. Inversely, multiplexing a VBR video stream in a CBR stream type sets the data padding value according to the stream's maximum bitrate, which may then increase the outputted file size.

- Emphasis on playback compatibility
When checked, restricts the value for the number of reference frames, framerate and selectable audio format, etc. This option is utilized for increasing the playing compatibility on a device which has some playback restrictions.
