Tokyo, Japan - September 16, 2025 -
Pegasys Inc., the company that takes video to the next level, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 8, the successor to TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 7, scheduled for September 24, 2025 (JST). Marking the first major update in six years, the ultimate video encoder has evolved to the next stage.
This time, the software supports the latest formats such as AV1 and Apple ProRes, offering greater freedom of control and introducing a new dimension of innovation with a range of new features.
An all-in-one solution for video conversion, compression, and editing, TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 8 supports a wide range of input/output formats, fast and precise cut editing, flexible editing modes, and detailed output parameter settings.
This latest version adds output support for a variety of new formats and containers, including AV1, which offers higher compression efficiency than conventional formats, as well as Apple ProRes, XAVC HS, MXF, MOV, and ALAC. These additions enable it to meet an even wider range of editing needs. HDR (High Dynamic Range) color space editing* and RAW editing have also been enhanced, further expanding creative possibilities.
The brand-new "Smart Cut Mode" lets users instantly remove unwanted scenes with a simple drag action, while also allowing re-editing of cut areas, which is a first for the series. This makes precise, effortless editing faster than ever.
To improve the convenience and efficiency of editing based on user feedback, many enhancements have been made. These include a redesigned and strengthened editing interface, automatic subtitle transcription, multi-camera audio synchronization, hardware acceleration support via Intel® oneVPL and Vulkan®, and more.
Experience the next generation of video editing. Evolved into an all-in-one encoding solution catering to both consumers and prosumers, it provides a more flexible and efficient editing environment.
