LICENSE VALIDATION Trouble

During the validation process troubles may occur at several stages depending your network environment and configuration.

Theoretically, any computer capable of reaching a Web page somewhere on the Internet outside of a personal or corporate LAN should complete the validation process without problem. However, since we cannot foresee all the computer and network possible configurations we expect the user to meet the minimal requirements. In any cases, always use the latest version available of our software. Main known troubles are listed below:

  • The Validation System does not connect;
  • The validation succeeded but the validation window still appears at each software launch.

Possible origins of such troubles are as below ↓

1. The computer Operating System is not Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Software including the Validation System only work properly on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. In case your computer is not equipped with such version of the Microsoft operating system you should consider an upgrade.

2. An Internet Security Software in installed on the host computer.

Most of the Internet security software automatically intercept the data transiting in the host machine. Under certain conditions, such software may prevent the Validation System from proceeding normally. In such a case, Internet security software settings change should be considered.

- Main Internet Security Software Behavior and Required Settings Change -

McAfee Internet Security Suite:
A warning window appears during the validation process requiring the authorization to let the Validation System to access Internet. Once the authorization granted the validation process can be completed.
Norton Internet Security:
A warning window appears during the validation process requiring the authorization to let the Validation System to access Internet. Once the authorization granted the validation process can be completed.
Windows XP Firewall function:
The validation process should be completed without problem.

3. The host computer is located behind a network firewall.

Refer to the firewall documentation or ask your corporate network administrator to authorize a connection from the host computer to the Internet.

4. The host computer accesses Internet through a proxy server.

Use the validation window's proxy option to set the proxy server access address and port. In case a password is required, use the related options.

5. Date and Time related error.

The Validation System takes in account every aspects of the date and time system, including an error margin, to provide a service as accurate as possible, however it still requires the host computer calendar and time settings to be correct. In case you use a Network Time Protocol access to automatically set your computer clock and calendar be aware Windows cannot set the correct time and calendar in case the local computer time shift more than two hours than the reference NTP time. You should therefore first manually set the date and time then use the NTP.
